Selected Works Of Made Djirna From The Year 2000

Djirna is a multitalented artist. Aside from being famous as a painter, he also makes sculptures and installations. His painting in general is decorative, but he also does abstract painting once in a while. To Djirna, it is more difficult to paint abstract work than figurative one. He believes that in painting abstract work, each line or dot must be carefully thought of and felt and the process takes a lot of energy. Djirna himself puts higher value on his abstract painting although
is figurative work seems more powerful and consistent. Djirna usually uses acrylic for his work but for this exhibition he will also exhibit painting in oil. Although very good with dark colours, he is also able to use bright colours well. Djirna's painting has a typical texture and soft granule like sand. This seems to be his trademark. Made Djirna's exhibition is held at Hotel Padma Bali from
18 to 27 Maret 2001. In conjunction with the exhibition a new bock on Made Djirna entitled "Selected Works of Made Djirna from the Year 2000" is also published by Hotel Padma and available at the hotel's Gift Shop with a price of Rp 200,000.
