Dynasti Raises Over Rp 100 Milions
To Date
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The Bali Dynasty Charity Effort which was formed in March 2000 to help the Poor Children of Bali has now raised over Rp 100,000,000 thanks to the fund raising efforts of the hotel. In cooperation with Ekoturin (East bali Poverty Project) the hotel has raised funds and managed to adopt two villages in a remote part of North Eastern Bali to focus on educating the children
there in order to give them the opportunity for long term sustainability. One project has started in April 2000 in the mountain village of Cegi to educate more than 30 children in the basics of reading and writing, mathematics, organic faring, arts and crafts and sanitation and hygiene! While another in September 2000 in the nearby village of Pengalusan to educate over 50 children. The hotel has raised money through various means such as donating a percentage of revenues from its; renowned Golden Lotus Chinese Restaurant as well as donating a percentage of ticket sales from its New Year Eve Function. In cooperation with major airlines, such as
Singapore Airlines and Ansett Australia, the hotel has managed to get additional support for the project with reward provided in the form of tickets. Commenting on the success of the fund raising effort so far, Robert Kelsall the General Manager of the hotel said, "We have been overwhelmed with the support fro our guests and wholesalers who have all contributed in
one way or another in our fund raising efforts. We hope to be able to continue to support this worthy cause throughout 2001 and give a little back to the island from which we all gain so much benefit". . For more information about the project please call
