Through April,
Pranoto's Art Gallery, main road, Ubud presents the exhibition,
"Passion"
showcasing the works of two artists - Faizal and Wayan Sutarta.
Coming from different islands, education, social background and
styles of work, both show a passionate dedication to their lite
and work. Faizal was born in Solo, Java in 1965, and studied at
the Indonesia Arts Institute in Yogyakarta. He is one of the most
well-known contemporary Indonesian artists. Faizal is in touch
with his inner child, which he expresses in paintings alive with
vivid colour, utility and humour. He has been described as the
painter of happiness, - his work embodies the sensual pleasure
of creation. Wayan Sutarta is a self-taught artist, born in 1962
in Ubud, Bali, growing up in an artistic family and community.
He seriously followed his artistic path of experimentation to
reach his current simpler abstraction of forms with bold design
and colour. Their exciting joint exhibition runs from April 7-28,
2001. For more information call Pranoto's Art Gallery at 970 827.
